New awards delight for top firm

A leading Black Country insurance broker is targeting double success after being shortlisted in the prestigious awards it won last year.

Gravity Risk Services, based in Dudley, is a finalist in the Broker of the Year award in The West Midlands Insurance Institute’s Awards 2015 – the award it picked up 12 months ago.

The company will be among a host of other elite businesses keeping its fingers crossed at the ceremony hosted by Birmingham Insurance Institute (BII) at the iconic Cube building in Birmingham.

The company recently put pen to paper on a deal with Championship football side Wolverhampton Wanderers via “Insure & Support”, a partnership between Gravity and One Sure Insurance as the club’s social media partner offering fans insurance policies to suit their needs.

Earlier this year the company was also awarded the coveted Corporate Chartered status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (cii).

Dale Collett, director of Gravity Risk Services, said:

We are delighted and proud to be recognised again by the BII. The launch of our new affinities trading division 'Insure and Support' shows our determination to reach into new markets and being awarded Corporate Chartered status demonstrates our commitment to operating to the highest standards.

Twelve months ago the firm made huge waves when after just 18 months in business it scooped the Broker of the Year in the prestigious West Midlands Insurance Institutes Awards 2014.

The company started out in February 2013 and from modest beginnings has seen its client base grow to 250 and its business soar to £1.5million.

The winners of this year’s awards will be announced on October 29. Categories up for grabs include Broker of the Year, Financial Planning Company of the Year, Service Provider of the Year, Training Initiative of the Year, Claims Initiative of the Year, Insurer/Underwriter of the Year and Presidents’ Award. The awards highlight professionalism, reputation and ethical practice in business.
